Dartmoor Farmers ASSOCIATION HONOURED WITH three major WESTCOUNTRY food awards

The very best regional food and drink products, producers and retail and hospitality establishments were recently honoured at the prestigious final ceremony of the Taste of the West Awards 2011 sponsored by Waitrose.  Held at the Eden Project, Cornwall, in the Mediterranean Biome, the well-known broadcaster, journalist and food and drink critic, Nigel Barden presented a total of 30 awards including the coveted Champion Product Award, 19 Best of Category product winners, Best New Product, Best Packaging and five South West Regional Hospitality and Retail awards. After a welcoming drinks reception, guests enjoyed a lunch of award-winning produce sourced entirely from the South West.

We’ve done it again!!

Following in the footsteps of last year’s triumphs we were, once again, delighted to be awarded five awards in the prestigious Taste of the West Awards.  This annual competition highlights the very best of West Country Food and Drink and identified the excellent tasting quality of our extensively reared Dartmoor Real Beef and Lamb.

The awards were;

1. Silver      Canon of Lamb
2. Silver      Lamb leg mini roasts
3. Silver      Lamb neck fillet
4. Silver      Beef rib eye steak
5. Gold        Beef rolled rib roasting joint

“Dartmoor Farmers are flattered to receive multi awards for the second consecutive year. Our beef and lamb are extensively reared within the Dartmoor National Park on a predominantly grass fed diet which results in the excellent eating quality identified by these awards”
