About Dartmoor
Deep wooded gorges, tumbling rocky rivers, winding stonewalls - welcome to Dartmoor, Devon’s National Park and the setting for some of the country’s finest reared Beef and Lamb.
More than 6,000 years of settled agriculture has created Dartmoor’s unique upland landscape and environment. Today, livestock grazing is seen as one of the most important factors in preserving the very special qualities of Dartmoor’s moorland.
So important are the hill farmers in sustaining Dartmoor’s rich and diverse landscapes, a number of organisations, including the Dartmoor National Park Authority, have introduced the Moorland Vision.
Designed to guide the management of the moor for the next 20 years, the Dartmoor Hill Farm Project is also aiming to support collective working and a sustainable future for Dartmoor’s critically important hill farmers.
However, these organisations aren’t the only ones proactively ensuring Dartmoor’s future success. Visit the Dartmoor Farmers page to learn more about how a group of Dartmoor hill farmers are enjoying success, to the benefit of customers across the UK, by offering direct to consumer Beef and Lamb meat boxes.
